Hey Region 1!
I hope you all have had a great week and that you have wonderful plans for our nice three-day weekend.
This is going to be another exciting year for our Region. We have scheduled three TABE 101 certification trainings as well as a CASAS certification training. Our first council meeting is scheduled for next week and we will begin planning our year of professional development. If you have suggestions or needs please e-mail me.
I know that some of you may have tried to register for our BLOG and were unable to do so.
We are in the process of upgrading our blog and I will send out an e-mail when it has been complete.

Region 1 Rocks
Hey Region 1!
Can you believe that it is March already? I don't know about you but I am so excited to see this nice warm weather. I hope you all are doing well and that your students are progressing and reaching their goals.
Our year has been phenomenal. Our trainings have been extremely successful with more to come.

Better Than Ever
Hey Region 1!
2009 is here and our training opportunities just keep getting better. January 13th was the first of our three-part reading series with Dr. Marcia Kosanovich. The workshop was amazing and everyone learned so many useful strategies for working with our students. The second in the series will be February 12th at PAEC in Chipley and will cover strategies and resources for teaching vocabulary. If you haven't signed up already now is the time. The third in the series will be held March 5th also at PAEC in Chipley and will focus on comprehension. Join us!
Yesterday was our second in the three-part math series and WOW! Melinda Hollington is absolutely phenomenal
at teaching math. It is amazing how much everyone learned and the evaluations were outstanding. The third in the series will be held February 19th at PAEC in Chipley and will be all about algebra. If you didn't make it to the first two now is the time to register for the algebra training. Other upcoming events include:

Can you believe that we are quickly approaching the end of 2008? We have had an incredible year so far and are very excited about 2009.
